Y&R Recaps Week of June 18, 2007

Friday, June 22, 2007
Jack was pleased to have gotten a decent night's sleep. He and Sharon went online and got a laugh out of the amusing videos spoofing the Nikki/David footage. Ben and Sharon agreed that Phyllis should stay away from the debate. "Phyllis is right here," Phyllis told them, promising to be low-key. Jack didn't think she was capable of doing that. Ben happily informed the gang that Jack was now two points ahead of Nikki ... and that he took back being reluctant to release it. However, Ben advised Jack to take the high road during the debate and coached his candidate on giving proper answers.

Meanwhile, David told Nikki, Karen and Victoria that he's going to remain "invisible" to the voters. He and Victoria suggested Nikki pull out of the debate, but Nikki refused. "Everybody makes mistakes," she noted.... J.T. called Victoria and told her he got her everything she wanted for her morning sickness. She kept her voice low so Nikki wouldn't overhear. However, a suspicious Brad noticed the spread — that J.T. very wisely put out in the Newman break room.

Katherine was determined to be there for the debate. Jill warned her mom not to harass the security guards. After everyone left the Chancellor home, Cane instructed his wife to call in sick so they could use the estate as a love nest for the day. Amber even convinced her hubby to wear an erotic costume. But while she donned a pink, frilly dress, party hat and taped-on bows (looking like a human birthday cake), Cane put on his most conservative suit and tie. They were interrupted when the mailman dropped off an envelope containing a DVD. Amber feared that it was a copy of one of the porno movies she'd done, but Cane wasn't planning to watch it just then. Later, Cane found the money Amber had taken from the stash she and the guys had buried. She quickly came up with the story that she was planning to buy Cane a motorcycle. He showed her his appreciation in the Chancellor library. After, she tried to snatch the DVD, but he caught her going through his mail. She distracted him by requesting some food. He surprised her with a gourmet picnic on the grounds. "I'm probably the luckiest man in the world," he told her. But she couldn't concentrate since he'd put the table right where the money was buried.

Kay joined Nikki, confident that her pal would win, but was surprised to see David there. "I'm invisible to the voters," he explained. "I'm a voter and I can see you," she shot back. In private, she lectured Nikki about having kissed David. She wondered if Nikki loves David, but she wasn't sure. Kay then cheered Nikki on, urging her to "Give 'em hell."

J.T. gave Vicky a foot rub and reported that some of her co-workers have noticed that she's seemed under the weather. He urged her to be extra careful during this pregnancy since she miscarried the last time. Soon, Karen stopped by to speak with Vicky. The women agreed that it was a mistake to have David connected to the campaign in any way — but also knew that Nikki probably wouldn't listen to either of them. David also didn't want to be present, but Nikki wanted him there.

At the debate venue, Jack sarcastically thanked David for "helping" with his campaign.... Sharon and Karen were actually friendly, but Vicky and Sharon couldn't help sniping at each other. Ben reminded Sharon to be on her best behavior.... Kay argued with the security guard to let her in and managed to get her way by offering to get him a promotion.... Phyllis sneaked up behind David and badgered him about the video.... Jack and Nikki hurled insults at each other before starting the actual debate. "You'd rather lie for free than tell the truth for money," she told him. "Don't like the idea of people seeing you as a hypocrite?" he shot back.

And the debate finally began! Jack told the people of Wisconsin that they deserve someone who will serve the people and not preach one set of values while living another. Nikki assured her audience that she wasn't using the position for her own financial gain. The candidates then debated crime (Jack proposed increasing job opportunities to eliminate it; Nikki argued that opening casinos would only lead to more organized crime). She accused Jack of releasing the video, but he denied it. She then mentioned his purchase of the Clear Springs properties, but Jack brushed it off. She continued to angrily prod him, but Jack remained calm. They were then told they were out of time. Phyllis was confident that Jack won, but David disagreed.

Jack and Nikki continued to argue about Clear Springs, as well. Later, Phyllis taunted Nikki about kissing David. "How many marriages have you damaged?" Nikki retorted. She then finished her rant to her daughter-in-law with: "No matter what you do, your life is always gonna be a mess."

After the debate, Victoria admitted to J.T. that her divorce has brought out the worst in her.

In her office, Nikki left a message for Victor, filling him in on the debate. After she hung up, David joined her. Meanwhile, Victor sat alone in an undisclosed location watching the footage of Nikki and David.

Ben and Sharon helped Jack prepare for the debate with Nikki. Jack anticipated the fallout that would occur when the video of Nikki and David kissing was released, but Sharon and Ben feared what would happen if they were connected to the leak. Jack suggested that they simply offer a "no comment" if asked about it. He did just that when a reporter called asking about it. "Mission accomplished," he proudly stated after he'd hung up.

Meanwhile, Katherine and David helped Nikki prepare for the debate. Nikki was aghast when she received a call about the footage. David went online and was shocked as he viewed the tape of him and Nikki smooching. "We've got a problem," he said. "You've got a nightmare," Kay warned them. Nikki was concerned that Victor would see it. Kay wondered if the video was faked, but Nikki admitted that it wasn't. She added that she and David weren't sleeping together and had just kissed. "What were you thinking?" Kay wondered. David noted that they'll have to issue a statement in order to keep the reporters away. Kay concluded that Jack was behind the leak.... Jack gave another "no comment" to a reporter.... David decided to resign..... Jack planned to take the "high road" and praise Nikki if he was asked about the video during the debate.

Daniel and Lily actually laughed together as they watched a DVD of a funny movie. As she went to make popcorn, Kevin came by and demanded that Daniel help him bury the cash they'd found. Daniel refused and returned to Lily. A few minutes later, Kevin called, asking Daniel to help him with a burst water pipe at the coffeehouse. Lily was understanding when he left.

Meanwhile, Cane took Amber to the morgue so she could identify the "John Doe," who was, of course, "cousin Garrett." In order to cover the gang's tracks regarding the late Plum, she insisted that it wasn't him. The morgue clerk described the corpse, but Amber continued to say that it didn't sound like her "cousin." Cane, believing that his wife simply didn't want to look at a corpse, volunteered to make the ID instead.

Daniel met up with Kevin by the grounds of the Chancellor Estate. They soon heard from Amber: "Help me, I'm with dead people." Amber demanded that Daniel help her. Cane was furious when he overheard her talking to him and got on the phone to confront Daniel. Kevin got on the line and fed Cane a bogus story about a "glitch" on Jabot's computers. While a distracted Cane chatted with Kevin, Amber said she'd ID the body. She soon returned, confirming that it wasn't her cousin. Lily then called Daniel, wondering what was taking them so long. His story was almost blown when an owl hooted and she heard it. Daniel quickly lied that Kevin had a "sounds of nature" CD playing at the coffeehouse. Ha! Later, Daniel called Amber again; she pretended it was Lauren calling her for an emergency babysitting session. The guys feared that Amber took the money and ran, but she surprised them by showing up. The three then successfully buried the cash, despite almost being caught by a security guard. Later, Amber and Daniel happily returned home to Cane and Lily, respectively. But they were awkward meetings as Cane wondered why Amber returned so early from babysitting and Lily noticed mud on Daniel's shoes.

Brad and Victoria met up to discuss their divorce, but the meeting quickly turned hostile as they fought over who got which possession. She told him that he could have the house and furniture as long as she got his Clear Springs properties. Brad refused. She threatened to tell the cops about the men he'd killed, but he wasn't worried.

Victoria wasn't exactly sympathetic to Nikki when she learned about the video. "How could you do this?" she asked her mom. Nikki explained how belittled she'd felt by Victor. Victoria relented and felt badly that she hadn't spent more time with her mom after Victor left for Sri Lanka.

Kay and David tried to figure out who leaked the tape. She questioned David about his feelings for Nikki; he said that he respects Mrs. Newman.... Brad congratulated Sharon on how well the campaign was going for Jack. He then filled her in on his contentious meeting with Victoria. Sharon hoped he'd have better luck in his next marriage.... Ben laughed at the idea of David not working out as either Jack or Nikki's campaign manager. Nikki then called Jack, who feigned sympathy over her predicament. Nikki didn't buy it and blamed Jack. Ben reported that Jack's numbers were rising. He, Jack, Sharon and Brad predicted that Nikki would quit the campaign. Kay advised her to do just that, but Victoria encouraged her mom not to back down. Sure enough, Nikki soon met with reporters to issue a live statement. She then took full responsibility for kissing David ... and then gamely changed the topic to her campaign platforms. Smooth move!

Sharon showed Phyllis the surveillance video they took of Nikki. The women were thrilled to have caught Mrs. Newman kissing her campaign manager on tape. Thanks to the nanny cam, Sharon also heard Jack say he owned Jabot. Phyllis tried to cover for Jack and told Sharon he sold the company back, but Sharon rushed off to her luncheon. Phyllis hurried into Jack's office to warn him, but was sidetracked — and thrilled — that members of the Brewers baseball team were there. Brad told Jack he's voting for him. Sharon got alone time with her husband and told him about the nanny cam. "Did you get anything good?" he asked. She informed him he was on the tape saying he owned Jabot — and she knows he confided in Phyllis about it. "How could you?" she asked. He apologized and she forgave him. Jack said he wants to go forward with his Clear Springs plans, and she tried to talk him out of it. He said it means a lot to him to work on this project after he lost Jabot and N.V.P. Phyllis and Sharon clued in Ben and Jack on what they captured on tape of Nikki and David. Ben wanted to erase it, but the women didn't agree. "This could cost you the election," said Jack's manager. Despite Ben's advice, Jack agreed to anonymously upload the video on the Internet.

In front of the inquiring reporter, Brad asked Victoria if she wants her things sent to her boyfriend's loft. Victoria and Nikki agreed that Brad is despicable. Vic asked J.T. to investigate Brad to see if he owns property she doesn't know about. He found out Brad sold his Clear Springs property to Jack a few days ago. Back in the office, Nikki and David apologized to each other for the kiss they shared. They agreed to not let it happen again. Karen interrupted. The threesome chatted about adding global warning issues to her campaign. Brad and Nikki argued. He pointed out her selfish moves for political reasons.

On the phone, Kevin and Daniel stressed out about finding and hiding Plum's body. Daniel informed Lily that someone stole money from their bank account. She agreed to look over their statements to see if there were any other fraudulent charges. They bonded over the duty.

At the coffee shop, Cane told Amber he got finally got paid. He 'fessed up that he was going to play a joke on her and say he spent the money on the Vegas timeshare she claimed to sit through a presentation for months ago in order to get their free tickets to Vegas. But when he called to find out details to help his fib, he realized she lied about the free tickets. She claimed she sold her ring to pay for the tickets. "If you'd known that I pawned something to go to Vegas, you would've never gone and we would've never been married," she noted. They flirted, then headed to his office. There, Amber and Kevin secretly chatted about where she stashed the money. Amber told Kay how proud she is of her hard-working husband. Her cell phone rang; it was Kevin. "John Doe's been found. It's all over the news," he informed her. Amber recalled her conversation with Kevin and Daniel trying to figure out where to put her "cousin's" corpse. She snapped out of it and told Cane it was Lauren on the phone, saying she found Amber's spare set of keys. Amber met up with Kevin, who was talking to a panicking Daniel. Daniel tried to cover in front of Lily. His phone rang again and he told Lily he got accepted to a week-long seminar — and that her dad put in a good word for him. He asked if he can see her when he returns. She offered to have dinner together right then and there, and for him to sleep over. He called Kevin and bailed on their "meeting" to bury the dirty money.... Amber returned to Cane's side. Holding the newspaper, he asked her if she's heard from her "cousin." Cane said a body was found that fits Garrett's description. Amber tried to point out the physical differences, but Cane suggested they go to the morgue to make sure it's not her "cousin."

At the coffeehouse, Gloria questioned Michael about William's uncle's financial state. She was disappointed when he informed her that he didn't have much, noting that they need the money for Will's hospital care. Soon, Paul and Maggie joined them. Glo and Michael kept mum when the duo asked them if Will had mentioned any other suspects in the Jabot moisturizer case.

Cane wasn't sure if he was doing well in his construction management job, but Katherine assured him that he was. When she gave him a hefty check, he refused to accept it; she insisted he'd earned it. Kay then questioned him about Lily's accusations against Amber. Cane insisted that his wife is a good person. He intended to use the money so he could take her on a proper honeymoon; Kay suggested going to Tahiti. How wonderful it must be to have a boss who gives out bonuses and vacation time to an employee who's been at the job for less than a month! Later, Cane learned that Amber had lied to him when they were in Las Vegas about seeing a timeshare.

Meanwhile, with Plum's body out of the picture, Daniel, Amber and Kevin wondered what to do with the sack of money they'd discovered in Plum's room. Amber and Daniel wanted to spend it, but Kevin pointed out that it could be marked drug money. They finally decided to spend some of it and hide the rest. They panicked when Gloria and Michael stopped by, asking Kevin if he could house Will since it would be easier for him to recuperate there. Kevin was less than pleased about this. Michael almost spied the cash, but Amber covered. Glo continued to survey the apartment; Kevin found it somewhat amusing when she admitted that Will wasn't as wealthy as she'd thought. Gloria suggested to Michael that Kay purchase the company Will had inherited; she was determined to help her husband get well and save his uncle's business.

Paul and Maggie discussed Kevin's "Jana hunt" with him. He showed them Jana's webcam message and gave them the IP address. Paul warned him that it would cost too much for him to continue with the investigation. Kevin assured him that he has the money.... Daniel learned that his credit card had been used to purchase a lobster meal in Maine.

At Newman, J.T. checked up on Victoria to see how her pregnancy exam went. She happily reported that the baby is healthy, but hoped that her divorce to Brad will be final before he learns that she's pregnant. J.T. suggested she just put his name on the birth certificate. She was tempted.

Sharon and Phyllis continued their plan to entrap Nikki. They became further determined to get her after Nikki and David encountered them at work and were less than cordial. After, Nikki and Karen finalized Nikki's platform on a particular issue. Once Karen left, Sharon and Phyllis tried to listen in. "Why don't you put a glass up against the door?" cracked Phyllis. "That'll be inconspicuous." "About as inconspicuous as you and I hanging out together," Sharon shot back. They were interrupted by Brad, who revealed that Victoria and J.T. are sleeping together. After, the ladies tried to figure out a way to get their footage of Nikki. Meanwhile, Karen left so that Nikki and David were alone. Nikki read aloud her speech to him. David advised her to come up with a signature hand gesture. She then went to water the flowers and almost came across Sharon and Nikki's spy cam. She was distracted when David complimented her and then again kissed her.

Brad and Victoria argued over a business transaction. He reminded her that he's on the board so he has the authority to overrule her. J.T. offered to put a picture of Brad up on his dartboard. Vicky liked that idea. Later, at the GCAC, Vicky was annoyed when Brad also arrived there. A reporter asked Victoria about her divorce, but she wouldn't comment. The reporter then questioned Brad about it. "I don't comment on her affairs," a bitter Carlton replied.

Phyllis was thrilled when she noticed that Summer's first tooth was growing in. However, she was overcome with sadness because Nick wasn't there to witness it.... In the woods, Logan held a cool compress to a feverish Nicholas's face. When the fever finally broke, she filled him in on how she'd found him injured in the woods. He was concerned that his family was worried about him. He told her that he has a girl and a boy back home. He asked Logan about her family, but she didn't want to talk about her personal life. He implored her to find a way to let his loved ones know that he's okay. She refused to leave him alone until he's healthy.

Sharon and Phyllis waited for Karen to leave her office so they could get their film. Phyllis distracted Karen by faking a back spasm, while Sharon snatched it. Later, Sharon watched the footage of Nikki and David and was frustrated when it just appeared to be Nikki working on political stuff. But she then spied them kissing. Bingo!

At work, Brad met with his divorce lawyer and admitted that his plans to split amicably with Victoria seem to be "out the window." He complained about the Newmans, which seemed to be a bad idea considering he was in the Newmans' office building. Neil interrupted them and asked for Brad's signature on a document.

At the coffeehouse, Victoria and J.T. discussed the idea of him possibly being the father of her baby. "When was the last time you changed a diaper?" she asked. "That would be when I was 1-1/2 and I took off my own diaper," he cracked. He then got more serious as he filled her in on Mackenzie's miscarriage. Vicky told him that she thinks he'd be a great dad.

Jack planned to get an "injured" Phyllis full-time nursing care. "Anything to make you more comfortable," cooed Sharon in her sweetest voice. After Jack stepped away, Sharon stared daggers at her house guest. The ladies then discussed how they could help Jack in the political race; Phyllis wanted to catch Nikki and David in a compromising position. Sharon was reluctant to help, but Phyllis said she'd do it on her own if she had to. Phyllis then pretended her back magically healed so she could go off with Sharon.... Jack worked on his speech, but Ben informed him that his debate was canceled. Jack was furious.... Meanwhile, Phyllis and Sharon plotted to catch Nikki. At the office, they ran into a puzzled Brad. When she revealed that she's helping Jack, Brad stated that Abbott doesn't deserve her. "No man does," Sharon cracked. "If it doesn't work out with him, I'm going to head to a nunnery." Brad admitted that his divorce has turned bitter. In order to distract him, Sharon pretended to twist her ankle; Phyllis was impressed, while Sharon reluctantly admitted to learning from the best.... Jack wondered if he could be a good senator. "What makes you think you won't?" asked Ghost John. Jack expressed regret at what the campaign is doing to his and Sharon's marriage and for having to play dirty in the election. "Life isn't always easy," stated Ghost Dad. "The tougher the challenge, the greater the reward." Jack thought it was karma for lying about Jabot. Ghost Dad reminded Jack that he's the "master of his fate."

Daniel, Amber and Kevin wondered what to do with Plum's body. Kevin came up with several interesting ideas, including burn the body in a furnace and one particularly unsavory one that made Daniel sorry he asked. Amber and Daniel then got calls from Cane and Lily and quickly got them off the phone.... At the GCAC, Colleen advised a stood-up Lily to talk to Daniel about what's gone wrong in their marriage.... Daniel was upset that he had to lie to Lily again.... Jana contacted Kevin via Web cam. She insisted that she hadn't wanted to hurt Kevin, but her father really wanted the reliquary. "I miss you," she told him. "That's what you get for trying to kill your boyfriend," he replied. "You're alive," she argued, then stated that she knows he misses her, too. He instructed her to come back to Genoa City, but she didn't like that idea. He told her that if she returns, he could possibly forgive her. She agreed to think about it. After, Daniel and Amber couldn't understand why he'd invite her back. "To make her pay," Kevin explained. Later, the three finally decided to dump the body on the side of the road.

At the GCAC, Cane ran into Lily. He told her that Amber is not to blame for her and Daniel's problems. He also insisted that Amber didn't send Daniel a photo of her breasts. Lily was suspicious when Cane noted that Amber said she had to close the boutique; after checking in, Lily proved to him that Amber lied. Cane then joined Victoria and Adrian to discuss the Clear Springs construction. Later, Adrian and Colleen marveled at how strange it was seeing Victoria and J.T. hang out together there.

Neil spied Amber, Kevin and Daniel driving by Indigo and asked Daniel why he hasn't met up with Lily. Daniel said that he's about to call her. Neil then asked if Plum is okay. Kevin nervously explained that Plum had too much to drink and passed out. Daniel and Amber than pretended they had places to be, leaving poor Kevin alone with Bernie, er Plum.

Lily was furious when Amber and Daniel arrived at the GCAC together. They lied that Daniel picked her up when her car broke down. Daniel begged Lily not to cancel their plans.
