The 411
A native of Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, Connie Fletcher got her start as a performer in the living room of her childhood home. "I would subject my parents to hours and hours of me dancing around to Paula Abdul," she laughs. She wanted to be a professional actress...but she also wanted to be "a dancer and a singer and a doctor and an archaeologist." She opted for actress after being cast as Dorothy in a local production of The Wizard of Oz. "That sealed the deal for me," she says. "When you're 11 and you're crying after a show is over, you go, 'I must really love this.' And it never ended from there."
After high school, Fletcher enrolled in Boston University's prestigious theater program. In her senior year, she and her classmates traveled to New York City to perform a showcase in front of casting directors and agents. That's how she landed her agent and first professional acting gig, the role of Erin Lavery on ALL MY CHILDREN, as her talent bowled over AMC Casting Director Judy Blye Wilson. She originally auditioned for the part of Amanda Dillon, which went to Chrishell Stause, but AMC was impressed enough with Fletcher to move ahead with the addition of Lavery sister Erin to the Pine Valley canvas — a perfect fit for the longtime soap fan.

Memorable Quotes
"The first episode [of AMC] I turned on [after getting cast as Erin], I saw Ryan [Cameron Mathison] and this other guy who's supposed to be my brother [Jeff Branson's Jonathan] holding a gun in a cave. I was like, 'What have I gotten myself into?' " — Soap Opera Digest, 4/11/06
