Memorable Quotes

"I remember when I was a kid, I would run somewhat loudly into the living room in the afternoon and Grandma would be like, 'Shhh, Dougie, my story is on' and it would be the GUIDING LIGHT on in the background. With Granny it never mattered in the duration of my career that I did a movie with Tom Hanks, that I acted with Val Kilmer, Sean Penn. It didn’t matter. She didn’t care. 'Dougie, when are you going to be on my story?' So I imagine now Granny is up in heaven dancing with Jesus and watching the GUIDING LIGHT on the celestial network with all the saints and angels. She is probably ecstatic that her grandson finally made it in her eyes." — Soap Opera Digest

"I teach sometimes, and my students will ask me, 'Why do you take a job?' And I say, 'Well, it depends on five things: the script, the character, the director, the cast and how much food I have left in the refrigerator and not necessarily in that order. Sometimes you take a job because one of those is profound, if you are lucky three of those pistons may be firing. Once in a blue moon all of them are firing all at once and that was the case with The Green Mile. I was floored when I read the script. I was out of my mind with the possibility of playing that character because I knew I could hit it out of the ball park." — Digest
