The 411
A native of Southern California, Eva Marcille relocated to Atlanta to attend Clark University, where she majored in speech communications with an emphasis in theater. Marcille received an early acceptance to Vanderbilt Law School, but declined it when she found out she was chosen to be a contestant on AMERICA'S NEXT TOP MODEL. She ended up winning the competition's third season. As a result, she became the (then) new face of CoverGirl cosmetics, and her modeling career was launched. She proceeded to walk some of the hottest runways and appear on the cover of numerous magazines, including Brides Noir, Women's Health and Fitness and Essence.
Eventually, Marcille decided to try her luck at acting, and began landing parts on television and the big screen. She had leading roles in the films Crossover and Premium, and a supporting role in Chris Rock's I Think I Love My Wife. In 2006, Marcille shifted gears to creator/producer when she co-created BET-J's fall fashion series, MY MODEL LOOKS BETTER THAN YOUR MODEL.
In 2008, Marcille joined the cast of YOUNG AND RESTLESS as Tara Hamilton, Devon's aunt and single mother to his long-lost sister, Ana.
The single actress lives in Los Angeles, and is engaged to TYLER PERRY'S HOUSE OF PAYNE star Lance Gross.
