THE 411
A California girl, Mary Beth Evans was voted Best Actress by her fourth-grade classmates — and she never looked back. After several guest-starring prime-time roles as "the girl from Wisconsin," she landed the part of DAYS sweetheart Kayla Brady, which would make her daytime royalty, thanks to her chemistry with Stephen Nichols (Steve, "Patch"). After six years of supercouple trauma, she moved on to GH's scheming Katherine Bell (where she was eventually joined again by Nichols, as Stefan), and in 2000, she showed up on her first New York soap as ATWT's recurring role of Sierra. The show signed her to a one year contract in 2004 when almost losing her to rival soap ONE LIFE TO LIVE.
The self-described "whimsical, impulsive" actress celebrated her 20-year wedding anniversary in 2005 and embarked on a new business venture. After years of baking apple pies for friends from her husband's family recipe she decided to go nationwide. You can read all about it and order a pie or two for yourself at www.marybethsapplepie.com. And if she wasn't busy enough, Evans recently made the long-awaited return to Salem in the role that made her a household name.
