THE 411
Born in Los Angeles, Ward and her family moved to Honolulu when she was 4. There, her parents started a theater company and began teaching acting. As a child, Ward soon found herself cast in the plays they produced. In fact, her very first role was Baby Bunny in Peter Rabbit. By the time Ward was 9, she was appearing in commercials for local department stores. Having amassed an extensive portfolio by the age of 12, she began modeling, traveling to Japan for six years for various assignments.
Ward's modeling work led to her first TV role: hosting the show Science Q in Japan. Eventually, Ward moved back to Los Angeles to pursue acting; her career began to flourish with a variety of television and movie roles. She got her big break in 1992, when she was cast as happening high school girl Robyn Sweeney in Encino Man. The next year, she landed her first TV series, CLASS OF '96. She has also recurred on PARTY OF FIVE and MELROSE PLACE. In 2007, Ward joined GENERAL HOSPITAL as Sonny's former high school girlfriend Kate Howard/Connie Falconeri, a fashion magazine editor.
Ward met her husband, Michael, in 1988, when they were both in the same acting class. The couple have been together ever since, marrying in 1995. Ward gave birth to their first child, Oliver, in 2001. Daughter Audrey arrived in 2006.
In her free time, Ward enjoys long walks, dining out, and going for ice cream with her family.

LOOK WHO'S TALKING
"I believe in true love. I do. Kate feels safe with Sonny. She feels she can be who she really is with Sonny. Unfortunately, Sonny and Kate's story is the journey, not the destination." — Soap Opera Weekly, 1/8/08
"I ran into Ben [Affleck] at a premiere a few years ago and he was like, 'You're that great actress from that movie [we starred in, Glory Daze]. What are you doing?' And I'm like, 'Looking for work.'" — Soap Opera Digest, 1/8/08
"I've had the fantastic opportunities, but also the fantastic failures and a lot of false starts. I made a choice a long time ago to let go of any expectations and simply do what an actor does: prepare, show up and play." — Digest, 1/8/08
"I postponed my wedding to do [Joe's Apartment]. Everybody berated me for passing on it four times. They were like, 'You can get married a month later,' and it finally dawned on me, 'I can, can't I?'" — Digest, 1/8/08
