THE 411
"He knows what he's doing and he's a very nice young man, so boy, does that make my job easy!" praises Emmy-winner Maura West (Carly) of her on-screen son, Mick Hazen, who took over the role when Parker was aged in December 2006. The teenage actor is an only child who was born and raised in New York City; he was discovered in the fourth grade when a casting director visited his school looking for a dark-haired, blue-eyed boy. After his parents persuaded him to give acting a try, he landed a job on CHAPPELLE'S SHOW, then the Hallmark Hall of Fame movie PLAINSONG, opposite Aidan Quinn, Rachel Griffiths and Marian Seldes, for which he received a Best Supporting Actor nomination from the Young Artist Awards in 2005. Hazen balances his acting work with clinics and conditioning drills for tennis, a sport he has played since age 3 and which he participated in at the tournament level. He was ranked No. 2 in the USTA Metro Boys 12 and under division, but put aside tournaments to focus on ATWT. He's also on his school basketball team. He lives in Brooklyn with his parents.

MEMORABLE QUOTES
