The 411

While studying acting at Rutgers University in New Jersey, Tracey Ross began a modeling career that landed her a contract with the Elite and Wilhelmina modeling agencies. In 1984, she applied to compete as an actor on STAR SEARCH, but the category was full. She gladly made a switch and ended up being the $100,000 spokesmodel grand champion. The beauty moved to Los Angeles, but eventually realized that she wasn't getting too many spokesperson/correspondent gigs and no roles that she yearned for. Back in New York, Ross became involved with a restaurateur and gave birth to a son, Bryce. The relationship ended, but Ross's acting career began. In 1985, she won the role of Diana on RYAN'S HOPE. Worrying every day that the soap would be canceled caused Ross to avoid daytime for over 10 years. But then the role of PASSIONS's Eve came along in 1999, and Ross realized that the wacky sudser was a unique opportunity that she did not want to pass up.
