Celeb Magnet and Entrepreneur Anthony Malascalza Finds Time to Give Back

Anthony Malascalza

The end of the year holiday season is the perfect time for many things. For many people, it’s the time of the year they get to spend with their families. For many businesses, it’s the time of the year when the demand for what they’re selling gets highest. And there are always those who worked hard the whole year to have the holiday season as a time to rest and recharge the batteries for next year.

As an entrepreneur, Anthony Malascalza knows how valuable those last six to eight weeks of the year are for business. The head of LCM Inc., a marketing and sales company specializing in the energy deregulation field, Anthony has been in the industry for long enough to know that he cannot afford to stop doing what he does best during this time of the year.

That doesn’t mean, however, that he can’t find the time to give back, mainly if it’s aimed at putting a smile on someone else’s face and ensuring their holidays are happier. “I did a turkey drive in Miami for Thanksgiving,” says Anthony. “I gave out 400 turkeys to people who needed them.”

It wasn’t the only food drive he participated in that month – or even that week. The next day, Anothony was in Santo Domingo, the capital of the Dominican Republic, together with Daniel Hernandez – the rapper 6ix9ine – where they organized another food drive.

“We spent $5,000 in US dollars, loaded up two or three trucks with the essentials people need, especially in a country like the Dominican Republic where food is such a big part of the culture,” Anthony says. “So we got things like rice, oil, fruits, and vegetables, created gift bags, and delivered them to probably a thousand families.”

The gesture was so well received that the team delivering the packages got crowded at one point and had to retreat to a local police station, where they got trapped because there were just so many people outside. The event ended successfully, however, leaving the people of Santo Domingo with more food for the upcoming holidays and Anthony with a new appreciation of how big of an impact his activities can have on other people’s lives.

The two food drives he organized and participated in were the crowning events of an otherwise hectic period. As the year ended, Anthony worked hard trying to share his business expertise with people who would use it to change their lives from the root up.

As a marketing executive with some experience, leveraging his celebrity relationships is the best way to do this. He created a series of giveaways, teamed up with names such as Lil Pump, Natalie Nunn, and Fatboy SSE, to give out anything from cars to one-on-one business training. And while he did get quite a bit of promotional value from these activities, his business and life philosophy makes it clear that his priorities lie elsewhere.
